Roderick M. Bryden,
President and CEO, Plasco Energy Group Inc. and Chairman, SC Stormont Inc.

President and CEO, Plasco Energy Group Inc. and Chairman, SC Stormont Inc. Mr. Rod Bryden is President and Chief Executive Officer of Plasco Energy Group Inc. Plasco applies plasma arc technology to produce synthetic gas from various feed stocks, including Municipal Solid Wastes, and uses that gas to generate electricity.

Mr. Bryden is the majority owner and Chairman of SC Stormont Inc., which specializes in the leadership and development of small to mid-sized Canadian businesses. Mr. Bryden is also a Director and Chairman of PharmaGap Inc., Plasco Energy Group Inc. and Clearford Industries Inc.

Mr. Bryden began his career as Professor of Law at the University of Saskatchewan. Moving to Ottawa, he held positions with the Government of Canada before he co-founded and became President of Systemhouse Ltd. He then founded Paperboard Industries Corporation (PIC) which became Canada's largest manufacturer of paper from recycled fibre and paperbox packaging.

In 1992, he became the principal owner of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, and The Palladium Corporation which, in 1996, opened the Corel Center, home of the Ottawa Senators. Also in 1996 Mr. Bryden co-founded World Heart Corporation and was President and CEO of WorldHeart until 2004. Mr. Bryden founded SC Stormont Inc in 2004 and became President of Plasco in 2005.


 

Eugene Roman,
Group President, Bell Systems & Technology

Eugene Roman, Group President, Bell Systems & Technology Eugene Roman is Group President, Bell Systems & Technology. Eugene leads the effort to create breakthroughs in productivity and performance, and deliver current and next generation services more efficiently by harnessing the power of Bell's network.

Prior his appointment to Group President, he was Chief Information and technology Officer. In this role, Eugene led the integration of the critical resources of IS/IT, Technology and Process to better deliver innovative programs, achieving short- and long-term benefits.

Eugene started his career with Nortel in 1981 and has worked in various groups within BCE including Finance, Information Systems, R&D, and Corporate Office with significant international assignments in Asia, Europe and South America. Eugene is on the board of Directors of a community based financial institution and has supported its evolution to an e-business.

Eugene holds a Bachelor's Degree, a Master's Degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Management Accountant.

 

Nicholas Parker,
Co-founder and Chairman of the Cleantech Group™, LLC

Nicholas Parker, Co-founder and Chairman of the Cleantech Group™, LLC Nicholas Parker is Co-founder and Chairman of the Cleantech Group™, LLC, whose mission is to accelerate the adoption of clean technologies globally. Mr. Parker introduced the "cleantech" concept to the investment community in 2002. Cleantech Group is the leading provider of services offering insight, opportunities and relationships to the cleantech community in North America, Europe, Israel and China. He previously accumulated over 15 years experience starting and investing capital worldwide through limited partnerships, family offices, corporate funds and endowments. In the 1990s, he also founded, built and sold a leading transatlantic environmental finance advisory and strategy firm. He has served as an advisor to multilateral agencies such as the World Business Council on Sustainable Development and the International Finance Corporation (World Bank).

Nicholas earned a BA Hons. in Technology Studies (Carleton University, Ottawa) and an MBA (City University, London), and has authored or edited ten publications related to technology, finance and international business. He serves as Chairman of E+Co, a public purpose investment company for clean energy enterprises in developing countries, has interests in property development and is a member of several academic and think tank advisory boards. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). He has lived and worked in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America and currently resides with his two children in Toronto.
