Mark R. McQueen

Mark has worked in the financial services industry since 1993. He has worked on every transaction in Wellington Fund I and Fund II and has led Wellington’s growth from its inception as a $7 million in 2000 fund to its current $83 million size. He was a Managing Director and Head of Technology Investment Banking of a leading independent investment bank from January 2000 until December 2004, when he joined Wellington on a full-time basis. He has participated in over 45 closed equity offerings and 35 closed M&A transactions during his investment banking career. Public company clients included: Certicom Corp. (CIC:TSX), Cygnal Technologies (CYN:TSX), Duke Energy (DUK:NYSE), GEAC Inc. (GAC:TSX), Leitch Technology Corp. (LTV:TSX), MKS Inc. (MKX:TSX), Open Text Corp. (OTC:TSX), Research in Motion (RIM:TSX, RIMM:NASDAQ), SMTC Corp. (SMX:TSX, SMTX, NASDAQ) and Wi-LAN Inc. (WIN:TSX). Recent M&A transaction experience: First American’s acquisition of Basis100 (2004), Smithfield Food’s sale of Schneiders to Maple Leaf (2004), GE’s acquisition of Triple G (2003), Geac’s acquisition of Comshare (2003), Basis100’s CLS sale to Filogix (2003), Duke Energy’s sale of Enlogix to ADS Alliance Data Systems (2002), Open Text’s hostile bid for Accelio Corp. (2002), and CGI’s acquisition of Star Data Systems (2001). Prior to January 2000, he was part of a team that advised on over $25 billion in transactions as a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions group at a bank-owned investment dealer. Mark received credit training at a Canadian Chartered bank and was certified for commercial lending in 1995. Prior to 1993, he worked as an executive assistant and advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada. He was educated at The University of Western Ontario (1988). At the present time he serves as a member of the Board of Directors including CrossOff Inc. (OFF:TSX), Environmental Management Solutions Inc. (EMS:TSX) and of several non-profit organizations.
