Alvaro Pombo

Founder, President & CEO, TrueContext

As President and Chief Executive Officer, Alvaro brings to TrueContext more than a decade of leadership and telecommunications experience gained in IT and eBusiness. Alvaro is the founder and visionary behind TrueContext and is fundamental in driving strategy. He plays an active part in all corporate activities including research and development, product, business development, marketing, sales and day-to-day operations.

Prior to starting TrueContext, Alvaro was an advisor to Palm Inc. for its eBusiness / eCommerce Strategy, and was the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Global Information Technology for Alcatel, Carrier Internetworking Division (formerly Newbridge Networks - a US $2+ Billion Networking Company). At Newbridge he was also Director Latin America Sales, Director of Electronic Marketing, and Vice President of eCommerce.

During his time with Newbridge Alvaro was instrumental in expanding the company's presence in the Americas, building the eBusiness presence worldwide, and transforming the IT organization from commodities-based IT into a service-driven eBusiness organization which was instrumental in the company's turnaround. Under Alvaro's leadership, the company's eBusiness organization gained Alcatel's recognition as one of the "gems" of the acquisition.

Alvaro holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (honors) and a Master's degree in Business Administration.
