Mitch Robinson

Vice President, Strategic Investment, Cognos Inc.

Mitch Robinson is the Vice President, Strategic Investment at Cognos Inc., an Ottawa based enterprise software firm. Originally from the East Coast, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis Xavier University (1989) and in 1992 received his designation as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

At Cognos, Mr. Robinson is responsible for the merger and acquisition, divestiture and equity investment activities of the Company as well as the development of geographic expansion strategies. In recent months, he has led the acquisitions of Frango AB , a publicly listed company in Sweden , and Optima Analytic Solutions SA in Spain , as well as a minority investment in Composite Software in California .

Prior to joining Cognos in 2000, Mr. Robinson was with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young as part of their Strategy Consulting practice, focusing on clients in the Energy sector.
